GITEX Global 2026 opens a new chapter. After many years at Dubai World Trade Centre, the show moves to the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) at Expo City Dubai, and from October to December. The GITEX Summit takes place on 7 December at DWTC, and the four-day expo runs from 8 to 11 December at DEC. Expand North Star, the startup and investor event, is back alongside it at Expo City from 8 to 10 December. According to the organiser, the 2025 edition brought together more than 6,800 exhibitors and 2,000 startups from 180 countries.
This guide is for exhibitors and agencies booking a videographer for GITEX Global 2026: what changes at the new venue, what to film, crew size, sound, same-day clips and costs. General trade show advice is in our guide to filming at GITEX and other trade shows; this article is about this year's show.
What changes at Expo City
A plan copied from previous years will not work this time:
- Getting there. DEC is in the south of Dubai, a much longer drive from the city centre than the old venue on Sheikh Zayed Road; the Metro Red Line stops at Expo 2020 Station. The crew needs an earlier call time to film the stand before the doors open.
- Two venues, two days. The Summit on 7 December is at DWTC, the expo is at DEC. If your CEO speaks at the Summit, treat it as a separate shoot.
- Distances inside Expo City. DEC is large and still growing: Dubai World Trade Centre is expanding it in phases into the largest purpose-built indoor events venue in the region. Walking from your stand to a stage, to Expand North Star or to the car park takes time, so group the day's filming by area.
- New halls. Every crew in Dubai knows DWTC; many of DEC's halls are new. Walk the stand during build-up and check sound and light before the opening day.
- December. The new dates fall in Dubai's peak season, when many events compete for crews and hotels. Book earlier than for an October GITEX.
- Still Dubai. Expo City is in Dubai, so there is no travel fee for our crew.

What to film at GITEX Global 2026
Much of what you show at GITEX lives on screens or inside devices. Plan the shots with that in mind:
- The stand before opening. Design, screens and products without the crowd, on the first morning.
- Demos where something happens. A robot moving, a dashboard reacting, a device in someone's hands. Ask your agency for the screen content as files, so the edit shows clean screens.
- Launches and signings. Many companies announce products and partnerships at GITEX. A signing needs two angles: the room and the signatures.
- Interviews. Your leadership, product heads and partners explaining what is new, in a short answer each.
- Visitors and VIP tours. The stand full of people and conversations at demo points.
- Expand North Star. If you exhibit there, your pitch and the investor meetings you may film.
- Vertical clips. Videos of 15–45 seconds for LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok while the show is running.
How many videographers you need
For a single stand, we recommend two videographers: one for the planned shots and interviews, the other for visitors, demos and anything unexpected. Large stands with several zones and a stage programme need more people, and with three or more videographers a production coordinator keeps the schedule. The Summit at DWTC on 7 December is a booking of its own.
Many exhibitors film the first day in full and book shorter blocks on the following days.
Sound in a technology hall
Tech halls are loud, and the camera microphone records all of it. Interviews and vox pops need a separate sound recordist with wireless microphones and the right equipment. Book the stand's meeting room for interviews at fixed times, or film them before the doors open.
Same-day clips
Posts that get attention at GITEX go out the same day, so plan an editor on site. Footage goes from the cameras to the editor during the day, and short clips are ready by the evening. Give the editor a quiet place on the stand and an internet connection that does not depend on the venue Wi-Fi.
Access and accreditation
Every crew member needs a badge. Exhibitors usually register their contractors, including a video crew, through the organiser's exhibitor services rather than as media. Check the exhibitor manual for build-up times and filming rules: your own stand is yours to film, while the aisles, other stands and official stages may need the organiser's permission. The Summit at DWTC may need separate access.
What it costs
Our rates for event filming apply to GITEX Global as well:
- Videographer: from AED 600 per hour when you book 4 hours or more; shorter bookings cost more per hour, and the minimum booking is 2 hours.
- Sound recordist with all the equipment, for interviews and vox pops: AED 2,500 per day.
- Editor on site for same-day clips: AED 3,500 per day (up to 8 hours).
- Production coordinator for crews of three or more videographers: AED 3,500 per day.
- Travel: Expo City and DWTC are both in Dubai, so there is no travel fee.
- Editing is quoted separately, by the number and complexity of the videos.
These prices are approximate and exclude 5% VAT. Try the event price calculator with your hours and crew, and confirm the exact figure with our producer on WhatsApp.
Plan it now
Camera positions are best planned with the stand builder, not on the opening morning. Book the crew once your stand plan is fixed, and send us:
- your hall and stand number at DEC;
- the days and hours you need, including the Summit if you take part;
- the launches, signings and talks that must be filmed;
- what you want to receive and by when.
