Corporate Event Videography in Dubai: What to Film

Corporate events are filmed for two audiences at once. One is inside the company: the people who were in the room and the colleagues who could not come. The other is outside: clients, candidates and partners who will see a short film on LinkedIn or the careers page. A corporate event videographer has to serve both, and the brief decides how well that works.

Here is what to plan when you book video for a company event in Dubai.

Which events are worth filming

  • Town halls and all-hands meetings. The leadership message recorded cleanly for offices in other cities. See filming a company town hall.
  • Annual days and team events. Atmosphere, people and short comments, edited into a film the team actually shares.
  • Award nights. Every winner on stage, the reactions and the room. More in gala and awards night videography.
  • Product and service launches. The reveal, the demo and the guests' first reactions. See the product launch video plan.
  • Client and partner events. Receptions, roundtables and open days, where the film doubles as a thank-you to the guests.
  • Ramadan gatherings. A corporate iftar needs a quieter approach; read covering a corporate iftar.

Decide who the film is for

The same evening can produce very different films:

  • An internal film can be longer, can show inside jokes and can name people and teams.
  • An external film is short, needs context for strangers and must be cleared for public use.

If you need both, say so before the event. It changes what the videographer looks for: internal films need faces and names, external films need scale, brand and a clear message.

What a corporate event videographer should capture

A reliable list for almost any company event:

  1. The venue before guests arrive: branding, stage, tables, screens.
  2. Arrivals and greetings.
  3. The opening and the main speech, with clean sound from the venue desk.
  4. Audience reactions during speeches, not only the stage.
  5. The key moment: the award, the reveal, the announcement.
  6. Three to six short interviews with leaders, employees or guests.
  7. Details: hands, name cards, products, food being served.
  8. The closing: group photo, applause, people leaving in a good mood.

What to keep out of the frame

Company events are full of things that should not appear on camera:

  • Screens and documents with figures, client names or product plans.
  • People who do not want to be filmed. Give them a simple way to say so, such as a sticker on the badge or a table the crew avoids.
  • Guests from other companies, who may need to approve their appearance in a public film.
  • Security areas and passes in offices and business centres.

Tell the crew about these limits in the brief. It is far easier to avoid a shot than to blur it in every version of the film. If the event is in a public place, check the rules for filming people in public in the UAE.

Interviews that sound natural

Interviews are what make a corporate event film more than music and smiles. Choose people in advance, give each a time slot and ask one or two open questions, such as what the year meant for the team. Short, specific answers work best. A quiet corner with the event visible in the background keeps the atmosphere without the noise.

Video, photos and social content together

Most corporate events need photos for the intranet the next morning and a few vertical clips for social media as well as the main film. Book them as one job, so the photographer and the videographers share the plan and do not block each other. See photo and video at one event. The brief

A one-page brief covers everything a crew needs:

  • the date, venue, start and end time;
  • the programme with the moments that must be filmed;
  • who the film is for and where it will be shown;
  • the finished videos you want and their deadlines;
  • people and things that must not be filmed;
  • a contact person on the day.

After the event

Plan the first use before the event: a short clip for the next morning, the full film within the agreed deadline, quotes for the year ahead. One evening of filming can supply the careers page, the annual report and several months of posts. Our article on event recap content explains how to plan it.
