Intersec 2027 takes place from 12 to 14 January at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). It is Dubai's trade show for security, safety and fire protection, and its 2026 edition brought together 1,180 exhibitors and 44,764 visitors from 151 countries on more than 65,000 square metres. The product areas run from fire and rescue to safety, surveillance, physical security and cybersecurity. If you are planning a shoot like this, our exhibition videography page has the details.

Security products are hard to sell with a brochure. A camera, an access gate or a fire detection system makes sense when people see it working, so video from the stand keeps selling long after the three days: demo clips for distributors and integrators, posts for LinkedIn and a stand film for the sales team.

This guide is for exhibitors and agencies booking a videographer for Intersec: what to film on a security or fire-safety stand, what to be careful with, how many people you need and what to send the crew.

What to film at Intersec

Most exhibitors need some of these:

  • The stand before opening. The doors open at 10:00; the early morning is the time for clean wide shots of the stand and the product wall.
  • Product demos. A camera tracking movement, an access control terminal opening a gate, a detector triggering an alarm, a suppression system in action. Film the cause and the result in one sequence, so the viewer sees what the product does.
  • Software and dashboards. Video management and analytics platforms look best when the screen is recorded directly from the software rather than filmed off a monitor. Ask your team for screen recordings, and we cut them with shots of people using the system.
  • Live demos. On the stand or in the outdoor display area: get the schedule early, film from two angles and record the natural sound.
  • Technical interviews. Product managers and engineers explaining one feature each, plus partners and integrators who are happy to speak on camera.
  • Visitors, meetings and signings. The stand busy with people, handshakes and agreements.
  • Social clips during the show. Vertical videos of 15–45 seconds that go out the same day.

Screens, faces and clearance

Unlike most shows, many Intersec stands show live camera feeds of the hall, face recognition demos and footage of real people. Before the crew films any screen, agree which content is cleared for publication. Our rules are simple:

  • film screens only when they show demo content with staff or people who have agreed to appear;
  • avoid close shots of live feeds with visitors' faces, or plan to blur them in the edit;
  • agree in advance which products, software screens and prototypes are not for publication;
  • ask visitors before filming them close up, especially when their badge shows a name and a company.

In the UAE, filming people who have not agreed to it is a sensitive matter: settle this before the show, not in the edit.

How many videographers you need

For a single stand, we recommend two videographers. One stays with the planned demos and interviews, the other covers visitors, details and the unexpected. For several product zones, a programme of talks or a space outdoors as well as in the hall, plan three or more videographers with a production coordinator who keeps the schedule.

Many exhibitors film the opening day in full and book shorter blocks on the other days for a specific demo, signing or VIP visit.

Sound in a busy hall

Halls are loud, and at Intersec alarms and sirens from demos add to the noise, all of it picked up by a camera microphone. Interviews and vox pops need a separate sound recordist with wireless microphones and the right equipment. Plan interviews before the doors open or in a meeting room on the stand, away from any alarm demo, and give each speaker a time slot.

Same-day clips

The first of the three days draws the most attention. To post during the show, plan an editor on site: footage goes from the cameras to the editor during the day, and short clips are ready by the evening. Without an editor on site, the stand film usually comes after the show, on a delivery date agreed before it.

Access and accreditation at DWTC

DWTC is in the centre of Dubai, on Sheikh Zayed Road. Exhibitors normally register their crew through the organiser's exhibitor services, and the exhibitor manual sets the badge deadlines, build-up times and rules for filming beyond your own stand. Send the crew names in time, and tell the videographers which areas they may film, including the outdoor display area if you exhibit there.

What it costs

Our rates for event filming apply to Intersec as well:

  • Videographer: AED 3,500 for a half day (up to 6 hours on site, even if the event is shorter) or AED 4,500 for a full day (up to 12 hours).
  • Sound recordist with all the equipment, for interviews and vox pops: AED 2,500 per day.
  • Editor on site for same-day clips: AED 3,500 per day (up to 8 hours).
  • Production coordinator for crews of three or more videographers: AED 3,500 per day.
  • Travel: DWTC is in Dubai, so there is no travel charge.
  • Editing is quoted separately, by the number and complexity of the videos.

These prices are approximate and exclude 5% VAT. Try the event price calculator with your hours and crew, and confirm the exact figure with our producer on WhatsApp.

Plan it now

Intersec opens soon after the New Year holidays and in the same week as Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, one of the busiest weeks of the year for event crews in the UAE. Book before the end of December and send us:

  • your hall and stand number, and whether you also exhibit outdoors;
  • the days and hours you need;
  • the demos, interviews, talks and signings that must be filmed;
  • which screens and products are cleared for filming;
  • what you want to receive and by when.

Why Fat Cat Media

We are a Dubai production company with our own crew, filming events since 2012. DWTC is familiar ground: our crew filmed GITEX Global there in 2023 and 2025. We have also filmed Expo 2020 Dubai, five Globe Soccer Awards ceremonies in a row, and the World Future Energy Summit and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week at ADNEC. See our exhibition videography page, read about exhibition stand videos and our Big 5 Global videographer guide, or send us your stand number on WhatsApp.
